It goes with out saying that every church believer should have a Church home where they attend regularly. If you are not part of such a fellowship, the following advice will be invaluable to your search! In a busy world where life hands us challenges we need to stay grounded in our Faith! Maybe you've just lived daily with no example of what Christ expects of you as a believer. Well, it just might be time to mold your life as the Word of God directs! Let The Jabez Foundation Ministries direct you through this process!

1~     Look for a Church Prayerfully      Remember Proverbs 3:6 

In all your ways acknowledge Him & He shall direct your path.' 

2~      Search for Prospects     You might look for a listing in the Newspaper or Yellow Pages!

A visit or two is helpful, but there is no way to fully evaluate a church without attending most services for a Month or so.

3~      Keep in mind that you are Looking for a Fellowship of Believers     Remember a Church is not a building, nor is it merrely a Ministry, it is the Body of Christ! So seek people who Love the Lord & each other.

4~      Look for a Church that Preaches the Word of God     Seek the Church that has sound doctrine!

Much of this can be discovered by Observation! For Clarity speak with the Pastor or Leadership.

5~      Look for a Church that has Good Character     Seek a loving peacefully stable church with a Pastor devoted to godliness, prayer,& the Word.

6~      Look for a Church that will Draw you Closer to Christ     You need a Church that cares about you who will meet your Spiritual Needs --that will inspire you to Grow In Christ.

7~      Look for a Church where You Can become Committed     In many ways, your relationship with the Church is similar to a marriage --you can't get more out of it then what you put into it! Get involved & submit yourselves to God & each other--where they both will encourage you & hold you accountable.

8~      Seek for that Fellowship that is Attempting to Reach Lost Souls     Find a Fellowship that that seeks to bring lives to Christ, both in the Community & on foreign Mission Fields. This will be a healthy enviroment in which to grow!

9~      Be ready to Accept the Individuality of the Church     Always remember a Church is a combination of what it's people are. A church can never rise up above what it's individual members are!  The Church is like a potluck dinner! What will you bring to the table of Christ?

10~    Look for a Church with Reasonable Expectations     In every Church you will find some people who are wonderful and some who simply are not. Also, in every Church you will find some things that are done well, & others that are not. Don't worry about finding the perfect Pastor, either. Trust me they are all human and make mistakes. There are many good Churches in your community! Let Jesus be the Author & Finisher of Your Faith!
